Like the first robins signaling Spring, Summer has a few tells too, and it looks like they are in full force:

-LOTS of great colour!

-Floral, floral, everywhere

-Road work :(

It’s not the nicest to deal with construction, but it’s a sure sign Summer is here. Time to break out the sun dresses and sandals!

I had a few days off and came back to a store FULL of wonderful new things.

We have great new tunics and dresses from Kollontai (I went home with two pieces already!), dresses and jackets from the always edgy Bodybag by Jude, and Jewelry and men’s t-shirts from Uranium. Come check it out this weekend!

For any last-minute shoppers, we have loads of great gift ideas for Mother’s Day. New sterling silver pieces from Tsunami and Refurbished, eco resin jewelry from dConstruct, and aprons made locally from recycled shirting, too cute!

Or just come for a day of shopping with your favourite lady and enjoy no GST for Moms until Monday!

At least it is inside Meese!

We’ve just finished making some great Sessa colour-blocked dresses in an easy, comfy perfect-for-summer jersey. They’re so much fun, and available in four colour combos, from subdued blue and nude to the more adventurous pink and teal!

This Saturday wraps up our 5th Birthday week long bash! Come down to Meese and meet some of your favorite local designers. We will have all our local St.Albert designers, and a few ladies from Edmonton as well. The event is from 10am - 6pm at our lovely boutique in St.Albert. Snacks and refreshments as well as amazing SALES!

Remember Cinder & Smoke from Edmonton? Well the designer herself will be making it down with an array of pieces never seen in Meese before!! We are so very excited to have her lovelies here.

Last week I had the pleasure of having a tour at her ‘new’ studio space, here is a pic of her in said studio chillin’ after a yummy lunch together with Alisha from Suka designs.

….. so this time around for photo shoot Friday, I was the model. Ha ha! Not where I am used to being when a camera is involved. Enjoy!

We have very exciting news here at Meese…… we were chosen to compete in The AGA Refinery ‘Sewing the Heartland’ event/competition!

The Art Gallery of Alberta has chosen five teams made up of passionate fashion enthusiasts to take part in a Project Runway-inspired fashion challenge during the next late night art party, Refinery, on Saturday, March 24, 2012. Taking inspiration from the event’s theme, Sewing the Heartland, teams will be tested on knowledge, style and creativity with a time-based outfit challenge. An expert panel of judges will determine each team’s fate with a live vote and critiquing (al a Canada’s Next Top Model/Dragon’s Den/Iron Chef/every other contest reality show) at the end of the night.

Tickets are unfortunately sold out to this event, but we would LOVE LOVE LOVE your support and positive thoughts that evening….. especially at the 1am judging!
