Yes to Parlour

If you are not familiar with the Edmonton based Parlour Magazine, maybe you should check it out.  The magazine was created by the lovely and talented Shelly Solarz ( and personal friend to Meese ).  She had an incredible vision and has made it into a working piece of art, containing everything grand and local.  The latest issue features Lady Gaga on the cover, and a great marionette photo spread with wonderful ideas for spring wardrobes.

We are getting very excited for the next issue to be released…because we’re in it!  We had the pleasure of hosting the Parlour team here in St.Albert in our boutique, and around our beautiful city.  The day was perfect, the sun was high, the company was fantastic and there was not a cloud in site.  We started the interview in Meese with Caroline, whom put me at great ease…which was so very nice since I am always so  terrified of interviews.  I believe my first statement on the record was ‘ please make me sound epically smart’ ughh… then it was really up-hill from there.  After the interview we then moved on to our ‘ duck pond ‘ as Evan and I know it ( known in St.Albert as Grandin Eco-park ) with our little crimson couch in tow.  The reeds surrounding the pond was the new temporary home for our couch and our beautiful model Nadine.  Props to Lillian the photographer for bringing her cousin (visiting from outta town), without her help the couch would have been sunk or possible a float with all the ducks to enjoy.  The shoot was amazing, the model ( big ups Nadine Parfett) threw all caution to the wind and jumped in, literally feet first.

At the end of the day even with scratches, wet shoes, accessories tangled, and Evans’ sunburn, we had the best time ever!   So search for this magazine in local shops including Meese, and don’t miss an issue ’cause every one is really a gem or maybe even a treasure box waiting to be opened for you to feast your eyes on all the local bounty.

A big THANKS to Shelly and her amazing traveling team, and to all those involved with the making of Parlour.  Thank you Thank you Thank you

Edmonton Fashion Week

We had such a great time with all our models, The Beauty Parlour ladies, and all of our friends backstage that helped us with dressing, timing, and making sure we were fed and had plenty of wine. Thanks to everyone whom participated and came to see our Sessa Wearables Fall/Winter ‘09 collection. As soon as we have video (as promised) we will post it on the site.
thanks again,

Full o’ Spring frocks.

…according to our calendar, spring was here over a week ago, too bad the weather can’t keep up? We’re moving on from winter with all of our new spring/summer dresses. We’ve been receiving new frocks weekly and posting them in our Meese’s Pieces page for your peepers. You can also see them live on ladies at Servus places for our birthday fashion show on April 4th.

Meese part 2

so here it comes… not only is it the first day of spring… but in 2 weeks Meese Clothing will be turning 2 years old! I must say its been pretty fantastic, we’ve gotten to know quite a few customers and have added a bunch more designers to our roster. Plus our studio has been producing some killer pieces for in-store and other Canadian boutiques. Who would’ve thought this little dream I had (since my college entry essay) would come to full fruition by the time I turned…. anyways… Evan and I really love Meese and how its changed our lives and exposed us to great Canadian talent and we are so super excited for the years to come. With that said, we will be counting down the days with you till April 4th and then there shall be a grande birthday event!
so yah, stay tuned….
