The last 48 hours at Meese have been quite crazy. Cleaning, unpacking all our clothes, dusting, tagging, a little dancing on the new floor, more dusting, building, unpacking more clothes, and even more dusting. Tonight as we left we had a long look at our little boutique and really appreciated all that it is. We have had the space for nearly three years and it is definitely a highlight in our lives, we have grown with it and love Meese dearly….. and at last Meese is on the brink of re-opening. Being closed for almost 10 days has been a lot to adjust to, not being able to enjoy all of our Meeses pieces from our great designers, and missing all of our wonderful customers . Tomorrow we will have one last day of clean-up ( because the dust just keeps-a-comin ), do the final finesse, and mark all the SALES throughout the store. Then thursday Meese Clothing will be back in business! We have 60 NEW Sessa Wearables spring pieces for the store: skirts, dresses and tonnes of tops. We also have new jewelry from ‘Kiko’ ( Edmonton ) and ‘Wine on Sundays’ ( Ottawa ) and Salgado Fenwick has dropped off a few ladies tees and a bunch of mens tees as well.
So now on to our Grande re-opening deals…..
GRAND RE-OPENING SALE
-Thursday, Feb 4th - Feb 14th
-ALL CLOTHING 40% off (excluding new spring arrivals)
-PURSES & BELTS 30% off
-2 Super-Sale racks 70% off
To celebrate the opening day, if you come in and buy 2 new Sessa Wearables pieces you will get the third free ( least expensive item is free ) .
We are so pumped to celebrate this thursday and see everybody’s smiling faces. We have the best customers and truly can’t wait to show everyone the new and improved Meese Clothing.

… you’ve probably noticed that Meese Clothing has been closed the last few days. Oh Dear! Unfortunately the replacement of our floors is taking longer than expected. But good news, us ladies have had huge days of sewing. We have been conjuring up new tops, beautiful skirts, and some really rad snap-sweaters. So when we open back up we should have at least 50 new garments for you to lay your eyes upon. The GRANDE RE-OPENING sale/party is just around the corner… and don’t worry you will all get the invite.
so after much wait the epic Yoga jean is back at Meese! We have now called all of our ladies on the ever growing waiting list, and we have a bunch of extras for our shelves. In this shipment we mainly received Black, but we have all shapes: mid-rise, high-rise, skinny leg, straight leg, and boot cut. I would recommend you get to Meese quickly because we know they won’t be here for long. ( don’t forget, when you purchase a pair here at Meese we hem them for free! )

Yesterday we closed the store a tad early to watch the Canadian juniors final game. (As Tressa loves to watch hockey). The first period was awesome, so much action, and goals by both teams. By the second period we received an alarming phone call. Apparently there was a water main break downtown St.Albert and Meese was taking in water. We drove to the store to see the streets drowned in lake size puddles and road closures everywhere. Once we were in the store we did have many sighs of relief, no clothing or stock was damaged at all! But our floors were in 4″ of water. (On the bright side Tressa was able to try out her new vintage rain boots ) So we picked up our phones and called on our friends and family to help us out. Within minutes we had a team assembled at Meese. Shovels in tow, we scooped all the water out. Towels were used to plug the door so no more water could seep in, and to absorb the surface water that remained. Finally we set up many fans and left for the night to let the floor dry out. To cheer us up, with minutes to spare, we decided to hit a pub to catch the OT on the Oilers game and grab a pint. The team lost in sudden death, but at least Edmonton got a point…. right? With this crazy night almost coming to an end, we found out from our waitress that Canada Juniors also lost….. wow!
Quite a night for us and Meese. We are closed today, as the floor is still drying…. but should be business as usual tomorrow. We would like to thank our team of friends and family whom rushed to our aid and helped us save our clothing, antiques, displays, body forms, machines, and dry up the pond we had as a floor. Thank - you! Thank - you! Thank - you!
Come down to the store and see our new carpets! ( We did have to replace them all, but it was a great time shopping for the new ones )
We would like to thank everyone for another GREAT year at Meese! With all your support this year we were able to expand our boutique and have a second St.Albert studio space for our house line SESSA Wearables. We have many pictures to post with some of our fabulous designers, pieces, art, customers and staff…so stay tuned! With the New Year we will be adjusting our January store hours slightly to give us a tad more time in our new studio to produce all of our lovely SESSA Wearables spring/summer collection. Also, we know that there are still Holiday parties happening and yes we have 2 dresses left to unveil…how exciting!

( you know who you are ) Now we are moving on to Dress #3, which is so very beautiful. Here it is on Alexa at Edmonton Fashion Week. It is vintage inspired with an asymmetrical hemline. We only have a size 4 of this one, but we do have enough fabric to make a few more ( special requests only ) . So I have really been slacking ( I know I am not the only one ) on my Christmas shopping until last night. I was talking with one of our customers and she said something that really resonated with me
” I finished all my shopping and now I have no stress until the New Year “. WoW… no stress heh? So with that I devoted the rest of my night to Christmas brain-storming… and how grande, I happened to be in our store which is filled with, yes, Nifty Gifties. So here are some great ideas I came up with for you to enjoy and be inspired by….

Also if your on my list here are some things you can hope for….

We have been working feverishly at our Sessa studio pumping out many Holiday dresses as promised for the season. We have six to debut, and here is the first. Full of sparkle and shine, this is the Kathie Dress - an asymmetrical dazzler! One shoulder flirt detail with full-out sequins trim, and golden stripe tie at front to elongate the body. It retails for $112.
So after much debate I finally bought my winter coat. I really surprised myself by going with the black Elroy coat in the end. I personally don’t own a tonne of black, but I decided maybe I should have a solid black wool coat. This Elroy jacket is amazing, not only is it made with recycled material its super cute too. The sleeves are nice and big so I can fit a sweater or blazer under it, and the waist is nicely highlighted with a tie belt. Oh yes, and the pockets are HUGE! Which is really important, they can hold an entire lunch including my banana. All in all I would have to say that this is officially my new favorite coat. Thank you Elroy for giving girls like me a reason to go out in the cold.

…..if you don’t have your favorite winter coat yet, come on down to Meese and find it…..
