It is governed by principles such as reuse and recycling, organic fibers, free trade worker conditions, and animal welfare — practices that are ethical and reduce the Carbon footprint of the consumer and the adverse impact on the environment.

Fashion Week has started!
Last night with Meese crew in tow (even through my ear/vertigo troubles) we attended the kick-off to Edmonton’s Fashion Week. The show was featuring the new graduates from Marvel College. ( which I had the pleasure of meeting and teaching them draping earlier this year )
Every year Marvel College puts out an awesome variety of talented designers, and as always we were very impressed with the collections, and fit of the garments. Great music, beautiful hair and make-up, and fantastic models. What a grande way to start off Fashion Week. So keep your eyes on these new budding designers…. we are sure to see them in the future.

Yes to Parlour
If you are not familiar with the Edmonton based Parlour Magazine, maybe you should check it out. The magazine was created by the lovely and talented Shelly Solarz ( and personal friend to Meese ). She had an incredible vision and has made it into a working piece of art, containing everything grand and local. The latest issue features Lady Gaga on the cover, and a great marionette photo spread with wonderful ideas for spring wardrobes.
We are getting very excited for the next issue to be released…because we’re in it! We had the pleasure of hosting the Parlour team here in St.Albert in our boutique, and around our beautiful city. The day was perfect, the sun was high, the company was fantastic and there was not a cloud in site. We started the interview in Meese with Caroline, whom put me at great ease…which was so very nice since I am always so terrified of interviews. I believe my first statement on the record was ‘ please make me sound epically smart’ ughh… then it was really up-hill from there. After the interview we then moved on to our ‘ duck pond ‘ as Evan and I know it ( known in St.Albert as Grandin Eco-park ) with our little crimson couch in tow. The reeds surrounding the pond was the new temporary home for our couch and our beautiful model Nadine. Props to Lillian the photographer for bringing her cousin (visiting from outta town), without her help the couch would have been sunk or possible a float with all the ducks to enjoy. The shoot was amazing, the model ( big ups Nadine Parfett) threw all caution to the wind and jumped in, literally feet first.
At the end of the day even with scratches, wet shoes, accessories tangled, and Evans’ sunburn, we had the best time ever! So search for this magazine in local shops including Meese, and don’t miss an issue ’cause every one is really a gem or maybe even a treasure box waiting to be opened for you to feast your eyes on all the local bounty.
A big THANKS to Shelly and her amazing traveling team, and to all those involved with the making of Parlour. Thank you Thank you Thank you
