Suka in Meese

….we had the pleasure last week of our dear friend Alisha poppin’ by the store. Not only did she bring us some RAD Suka pieces, she also stuck around to chat. Our chats usually consist of clothes, parties, significant others, sewing and Marvel College. ( her and I attended Marvel in 2001, and we both have been teaching there for the last couple of years ) I certainly love her visits, and her clothes!!

here I am sporting her Blondie Sweater

Why Meese how you’ve grown

we now have an entire new area to Meese. Perfect for all of our beautiful coats, and all of our ‘little black dresses’. Here is our gorgeous pal Nadine ( whom was just passing by ) modeling one of our great Canadian hats by Andre, and a BEAUTIFUL black lacey dress by Frank Lyman.
Stop on by to check out the New Meese, and feel free to peruse all of our new Meeses pieces!

Good-bye garden, hello Halloween

Evan and I extended the size of our garden last Fall with the rototiller, and doubled the size for this spring/summer. Wow! We not only grew as many veggies as possible, we actually had a huge yield as well. The space held 6 types of lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, swiss char, green peppers and hot peppers, potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, an entire herb section, and beautiful sunflowers. On the side we also had 5 types of tomatoes in their own cozy little wooden homes. We experimented a lot with the food on our new BBQ and also featured a spread for every Artwalk we hosted. (as well as sent every friend home with a bag o’ goodness ) Sadly the time has come to once again to rototill it, and put the remnants back to the earth. Next year we are leaving the ground fallow to re-energize the soil for 2011. We have already prepared a full legend for our planting needs in the future. I must say my favorite time in the day is the morning, and watering the garden with the sunrise was ‘oh so dreamy’. Thanks to the earth for providing us with such riches.

p.s. we have one pumpkin growing to enjoy at Halloween!

Fashion Week has started!

Last night with Meese crew in tow (even through my ear/vertigo troubles) we attended the kick-off to Edmonton’s Fashion Week.  The show was featuring the new graduates from Marvel College. ( which I had the pleasure of meeting and teaching them draping earlier this year )

Every year Marvel College puts out an awesome variety of talented designers, and as always we were very impressed with the collections, and fit of the garments.  Great music, beautiful hair and make-up, and fantastic models.  What a grande way to start off Fashion Week.  So keep your eyes on these new budding designers…. we are sure to see them in the future.

Congraduations!!

Well we said rain or shine, and for our show this year we had both! Meese hosted our annual outdoor fashion show tuesday the 18th and had quite the turn out. This year we had more volunteer models than ever, a whopping 130 guests, and a short storm in between. Thanks to all guests that attended for braving out the rain, to the 2 salons Blush and Hair FX for doing a fantastic job on all our models, to Aspen our friend and make-up artist for working her magic, and of course a huge thanks to all our awesome models for struttin’ in their favorite new Fall pieces. Stay tuned for the Edmonton Journals coverage on our event, and all the pictures we are gathering.

p.s. a big-big-big thanks to Evans Mom for the wonderful spread of food
